The "From Heart to Heart" charity event, part of the BRC's national "Let's Get Children to School" initiative, will take place in Vitebsk from 12:00 to 16:00 on August 20 at the Holy Protection Cathedral parish. The collection of necessary humanitarian aid from the public will commence on August 1. Anyone wishing to contribute can bring school clothing and footwear, sports and stationery supplies, books, and educational materials to the BRC city organisation's office or to the cathedral for subsequent distribution to large and low-income families facing difficult circumstances.
The initiators and organisers of the campaign are the Vitebsk City Organisation of the BRC and the diaconal centre of the Vitebsk Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. "Every year, we collect stationery before school for this category of families, and we accept clothing from the public all year round – for children and adults. However, this time we decided to combine both aspects and coordinate this work with the church to fully prepare children for school. There is a significant need for this," the organisation noted. Additional collection points for aid may be organised during school fairs for the convenience of potential donors.
