The criteria for classifying economic and other activities that have a harmful impact on the environment as environmentally hazardous activities, as defined by Decree of the President of Belarus of June 24, 2008 No. 349 "On the criteria for classifying economic and other activities that have a harmful impact on the environment as environmentally hazardous activities", have been amended by Decree of February 8, 2016 No. 34. This was reported by the National Centre for Legal Information (NCLI) of Belarus.

For example, the criterion for classifying poultry farming activities as environmentally hazardous is the operation of a facility for bird rearing with a design capacity of 40 thousand places or more (previously 500 thousand places or more); for the production of pulp, paper and paper products - the operation of a facility for the production of pulp and/or wood pulp from wood or similar fibrous materials (previously the operation of a similar facility with a production capacity of 100 thousand tons per year or more), etc.
The NCLI explained that, additionally, the codes for types of economic activity have been brought into conformity with the State Classifier of the Republic of Belarus OKRB 005-2011 "Types of Economic Activity", approved by Resolution of the State Committee for Standardization of December 5, 2011 No. 85, which came into force on January 1, 2016.
The document was registered in the National Register of Legal Acts of Belarus on February 9, 2016, and enters into force upon its official publication.
