Vitebsk customs officers have seized the largest consignment of contraband clothing this year, Petr Markachevsky, head of the operational-search department of Vitebsk customs, informed a BELTA correspondent. At the "Urbany" republican border customs clearance point in Braslav district, during the inspection of a vehicle travelling from Latvia to Ukraine, Vitebsk customs officers discovered contraband goods. Under the guise of canned fish, demi-season jackets, valued at over Br10 billion, were being transported in the vehicle. The weight of the goods exceeded 20 tonnes. Currently, the goods are being unloaded and counted. After this, an administrative process will be initiated regarding the import of the contraband cargo into the single customs territory. The seized clothing will be confiscated.-0-
