Kupala Night Celebrated Merrily and Joyfully in Borovka

The main points of attraction were the Kupala birch tree, the lake, and a large bonfire. From the early evening, all those who wished tied colorful ribbons with cherished desires onto the birch branches – this tradition consistently enjoys popularity among young people and families with children.


Near the birch tree, fairytale characters engaged guests in round dances and games.


And when it got dark, a tall Kupala bonfire was lit in the clearing. Spectators formed a circle, admired the flames, and made heartfelt wishes – according to belief, it is on this night that fire possesses a special purifying power.
