Last weekend, young people from the Vitebsk region participated in the Belarusian-Russian youth educational and patriotic camp "KURGAN - 2026".

Lepel residents also took part in the event – a team of BRSM activists, accompanied by First Secretary Natalia Zhurba and Second Secretary Veronika Syichik. For three days, the participants engaged in various interactive activities, contests, and sports competitions. Most importantly, they had a great time and made new friends.


On July 5, one of the key meetings reflecting the partnership relations between fraternal peoples took place at the Kurgan Druzhby (Friendship Mound). At the junction of three states – Russia, Belarus, and Latvia – the 67th meeting of delegations from two countries, Belarus and Russia, was held. Representatives from the Vitebsk and Pskov regions participated in the event, emphasizing the unwavering fraternal ties and long-standing cooperation between the peoples. The Belarusian delegation was led by Dmitry Demidov, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, and Alexey Guida, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. A delegation from the Lepel district, led by Veronika Khomback, Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee, also attended the meeting.


On Belarusian soil, wreaths of military glory and flowers were laid at the monument to the Komsomol underground fighters of the village of Proshki, whose lives became an example of bravery and courage for future generations. On the Russian side, participants of the meeting laid wreaths of military glory and flowers at the monument to Maria Pynto, a partisan scout who was brutally tortured by the Nazis on May 15, 1944.


Here, in the Verkhnedvinsk district, Lepel residents met with participants of the Belarusian-Russian youth educational and patriotic camp "Kurgan-2026". The youth of the Lepel region warmly welcomed the leadership of the northern region, as well as their fellow countrymen.
