An agreement on technological and advisory support by NATCO Pharma Ltd for the project to establish Belarus's first small-scale chemical synthesis laboratory was reached during a meeting between the management of the medical and pharmaceutical cluster "Union of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Scientific-Educational Organizations 'Medicine and Pharmaceuticals - Innovative Projects'" and Bhuyanga Rao, a member of the Board of Directors of NATCO Pharma Ltd (India). The negotiations took place at the Vitebsk State Medical University.
"The project that the Indian company intends to support is aimed at creating a research and development centre competent in the fields of development and transfer of technologies for the synthesis of expensive pharmaceutical substances; scaling up technologies for the production of pharmaceutical substances; and training personnel in microreactor synthesis technologies," explained JV "Nativita".
During the negotiations, the participants discussed the stages of laboratory creation and identified the key aspects of technology transfer for the synthesis of substances for the production of several socially significant drugs. It was decided that the synthesis would be carried out at the Vitebsk Medical University, and subsequently, the finished dosage forms of medicinal products would be produced at the "Nativita" enterprise (Beshenkovichi). In addition to technological support, NATCO company will actively participate in the training of research staff of the laboratory and the research center of "Nativita," which is an active participant in the cluster.
"Nativita" pharmaceutical company is a plant for the production of drugs for the treatment of malignant tumors, as well as a number of autoimmune and severe infectious diseases. The enterprise's products are included in Belarus's import substitution program.
The Vitebsk region hosts the first pharmaceutical cluster in Belarus, "Union of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Scientific-Educational Organizations 'Medicine and Pharmacy - Innovative Projects'". Its members include Vitebsk State Medical University, SOOO "Nativita", RUE "Rubikon", OJSC "BelVitunipharm", RUE "VitVar", SOOO "AconitPharma", SOOO "Medelcombel", RUE "PharmMarketing Group", KPUP "Vitebsk Regional Marketing Center", and NP "Union of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Clusters" (Russia). The main objective of the cluster is to comprehensively address issues related to the development, production, and marketing of innovative products in the field of medicine and pharmacy within the territory of Belarus.
