22 March, Minsk /BELTA/. Prime Minister of Latvia Valdis Dombrovskis is against sanctions against Belarus. He stated this in an interview with the Latvian newspaper Diena. "Latvia also opposes the application of broad sanctions, which would not only affect many residents of Belarus but also cause significant damage to the economies of several EU countries, including Latvia," said Valdis Dombrovskis. According to him, this issue is currently being discussed in working groups, where Latvian representatives are actively expressing their opinion on minimizing the negative impact of economic sanctions on EU member states. The Latvian Prime Minister noted that the EU does not provide for compensation for losses that any EU country may incur as a result of sanctions imposed against Belarus. -0-
