A book is an integral part of the lives of the pupils of Borovskaya Secondary School.
For the second year, primary school teacher Alena Vasilievna Yaroslavtseva has been participating in the international project "Literary Creativity in the System of Socio-Cultural Development of Schoolchildren Aged Seven to Twelve". The relevance of the project is due to the fact that literary creativity is currently given an important place in the system of literacy formation and the development of reading skills in primary and secondary school pupils. The aim of the project is the multifaceted development of reading and writing skills in schoolchildren aged seven to twelve by involving them in literary creativity. The project and the work of the expert commission are headed by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor at Saint Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts, Galina Varganova. Russian schools, the Finnish-Russian school from Helsinki, a multidisciplinary lyceum from Ukraine, a basic school from Kragujevac (Serbia), and our own Borovskaya School are participating in the project.
Participants engage in literary creativity based on given themes. Their works are presented on the project website: www.child.kodeks.ru. The expert commission, which includes contemporary Russian children's writers and educators, identifies the best works by pupils and acknowledges their supervisors with certificates, diplomas, and commendations based on the competition results. The website features reviews by contemporary Russian writers on the creative work of our schoolchildren.
For instance, writer V. Belousov noted the creative works of fourth-grade "B" pupils Yana Davydova, Polina Polyakovich, Liza Vyadernikova, Anastasia Glushchenko, Sviatoslav Lappo, Daniil Kalinin, and Valeria Ishkova. The pupils became diplomates and laureates of the international competition of creative skills.
Alena Vasilievna received a personal commendation from the head of the international project, G.U. Varganova, and children's writer Sergey Georgiev. The principal of the secondary school, Viktor Azaronok, and primary school teacher Alena Yaroslavtseva received an invitation from Professor Galina Varganova to participate in the creation of the collection "Reading as a Humanistic Value".
The teacher continues to work with the children. New creative works by pupils of Borovskaya School, participants in the competition, will soon appear on the website.
