With the aim of preventing fires in residential buildings and loss of life from them, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations organised an information and educational platform called "Safety Post" in local grocery stores for residents of the villages of Novye Volosovichi, Chertsy, and Bolshoy Polsvizh.

Here, rescuers conducted explanatory work with each customer, teaching them how to prevent fires in their homes, and protect their health, life, and property from fire.

During the preventive talks, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed customers about fires that had occurred in the district, explained their causes, and demonstrated autonomous fire alarms, which annually justify their purpose by saving dozens of lives.

Particular attention during safety discussions was paid to the rules for operating stoves, domestic boilers, electric heaters, and all household electrical appliances. The issue of careless handling of fire by citizens, including during smoking, was also addressed. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded attendees of the potential consequences of the "cigarette + alcohol" combination and explained how to prevent fire-hazardous situations while smoking.

Along with their groceries, people took away useful safety knowledge. They were presented with thematic leaflets containing important recommendations for life safety as a memento.
