As part of a large-scale campaign to inform the public about the effectiveness of using autonomous fire alarms, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, with the assistance of the public association "Belaya Rus", as well as a representative of the Belarusian Voluntary Fire Society, are installing these devices in the homes of the most vulnerable categories of citizens.
‒ The alarm is quite easy to install and does not require special maintenance. In case of smoke, it emits a loud audible signal that can wake a sleeping person and give them time to leave the danger zone, ‒ explain representatives of the rescue department to homeowners. ‒ If the device starts beeping rhythmically, it indicates that it is time to replace the battery.
When visiting households, rescuers also reminded pensioners of the emergency service phone numbers and explained the algorithm of actions in case of fire or emergencies, and they, in turn, thanked the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for their attention and care for the safety of elderly people.
Concluding the dialogue, rescuers handed out thematic brochures to the villagers with recommendations on bringing property into a fire-safe condition.
