Lepel Celebrated Independence Day
The Independence Day celebrations in Lepel began with a service in the churches. A thanksgiving prayer for peace on earth and a requiem liturgy for all those who fell on the battlefields were held in the Church of the Nativity of Christ by Archpriest Sergius Leshkevich. The All-Belarusian Prayer is another symbol of the country's unity, which was joined today by representatives of the district authorities.
Lepel residents laid flowers at the graves of soldiers who fought for our independence. We remember and honor the feat of our ancestors.
The celebration began on Freedom Square with the concert program "Flourish, my blue-eyed land!". Lepel residents were welcomed by the Head of Lepel District, Mikhail Kiselevich, and the Member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Viktor Azaronok.
A grand festive program in honor of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus unfolded on the main square of the city. Organizations and enterprises of the Lepel region presented their homesteads.
Interactive platforms for children and adults, exhibitions, master classes, field kitchens, an exhibition of military equipment and technology, festive trade, and play areas were in operation.
The evening program of the celebration featured the group "Dobryya lyudzi" from Minsk. These guys know how to melt hearts even on the rainiest evening! From the first chords, they mixed folk, rock, and soulful ballads – so much so that the square began to breathe in unison. Their music was like a breath of fresh air after a thunderstorm, and each performance was met with ovations, as if the sun had shone specifically for us.
The stars of Lepel greeted the residents of the Lepel region, having prepared the concert program "Happy Holiday, Belarus!" for them.
Another headliner of the holiday was the cover band from Vitebsk "ENoty". This is a popular Belarusian musical group from Vitebsk, known for their vibrant live performances.
At 23:00, Lepel joined the nationwide campaign "Let's Sing the Anthem Together!".
The celebration will conclude with fireworks and a festive disco program.
Lepel residents clearly enjoyed the holiday, as can be seen from their personal social media. Throughout the weekend, their feeds were filled with videos and photos from Independence Day.
