The beloved holiday of New Year, which is incomplete without fireworks and bright colourful salutes, is just around the corner. However, when using pyrotechnic products to embellish their celebration, many are unaware of the dangers they may expose their lives to.
To minimise the risk, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, together with representatives of the District Department of Internal Affairs, conducted a raid on places of sale and storage of pyrotechnic products.
During the raid, employees paid special attention to the quality of the products sold, the availability of certificates, and compliance with the rules for storage and sale of pyrotechnic products.
No gross violations were identified as a result of the raid. Nevertheless, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that sellers of pyrotechnics must have permits for the right to sell products and mandatory certificates of conformity, namely information confirming the compliance of pyrotechnic products with the requirements of the Customs Union Technical Regulation "On the Safety of Pyrotechnic Products".
The Ministry of Emergency Situations also reminds that fireworks, rockets, firecrackers, and sparklers have a limited shelf life. Therefore, expired products are prohibited from sale and use.
