Employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, together with representatives of the gas service, conducted a joint preventive event as part of the second stage of the republican campaign "Focus on Children!" with pupils from the Polsvizhsk Basic School of the Lepel District.

The event was based on the game "Where is the Logic?", which allowed for a discussion of many issues related to life safety, which will help them navigate independent life in the future.

During the event, the benefits of an autonomous fire alarm were discussed, and the emergency service call number was recalled. The children considered which everyday items at hand could be useful for extinguishing a fire, and also discussed their dangers.

The presentation of the mobile application "Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus. Help is Near" was met with great interest, and many children installed it on their gadgets right during the event.

The gas service employees had not only things to show but also to tell. For example, did you know that a 1% concentration of carbon monoxide in the air is a lethal concentration for humans, and just 2-3 breaths are enough for irreparable harm to occur? A carbon monoxide detector can help avoid this deadly threat. Many mistakenly believe it is the same as an autonomous fire alarm, but they are different – the latter reacts to smoke in a room.

At the end of the event, each participant received a safety leaflet from both the rescuers and the representatives of the gas service.
