Lepel's Hero: Daniil Alexandrov Wins Bronze at the International Tournament MINSK JUDO FEST 2026.

A major international judo tournament, MINSK JUDO FEST 2026, has concluded in the capital, bringing together top athletes from Minsk, all regions of Belarus, and international guests on the tatami. Lepel proudly inscribed its name among the winners of this prestigious competition.

Daniil Alexandrov, a student of the Lepel Children and Youth Sports School "Bogatyr" (Hero), demonstrated character and a will to win in the heaviest weight category – over 100 kilograms. In a fierce battle against seasoned opponents, our compatriot managed to ascend to the third step of the podium, securing a bronze medal at the tournament.

This year, MINSK JUDO FEST 2026 reaffirmed its status as an event uniting generations. Both young cadets and experienced masters competed on the tatami. High competition and the presence of foreign athletes created the very fighting atmosphere that allows athletes to truly test themselves. Participating in such a tournament is always an invaluable experience: competing against unfamiliar opponents, testing one's own endurance and technique under the pressure of the stands.

For Daniil Alexandrov, this competition marked an important stage in his professional growth and a serious test of strength before the main Belarusian event of the season.

"MINSK JUDO FEST is a high-level tournament. The strongest athletes from Belarus and other countries have gathered here. It's an excellent opportunity to experience different fighting styles and impose one's tactics on an unfamiliar opponent. It is very valuable to gain this experience now, as the Championship of the Republic of Belarus awaits us in March. This bronze medal has shown me that I am moving in the right direction, but it has also highlighted areas that still require work to be in optimal form for the republican competition," shared Daniil Alexandrov after the award ceremony.
