A resident of Lepel inflicted bodily harm on her cohabitant – she received a fine

The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District supported the state prosecution in a criminal case previously initiated by it against a 59-year-old local resident. She is accused of causing minor bodily harm resulting in short-term health disorder.
According to the case materials, on January 19 of the current year, the woman, while intoxicated, during a conflict that arose from personal animosity, because her cohabitant could not open the front door of the house, as he was also intoxicated, struck him with a metal pipe to the head. As a result, she caused her cohabitant minor bodily harm, evidenced by a short-term health disorder in the form of two head wounds.
In the court hearing, the accused fully admitted her guilt.
Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the court of Lepel District rendered a guilty verdict.
Based on Article 153 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the accused was sentenced to a fine of 40 base units, amounting to 1,800 rubles.
The verdict has entered into legal force.
