In accordance with the Rules for Fishery Management and Fishing, the catching of all fish species in the fishing grounds of the Vitebsk region is prohibited from April 10 to June 8, with the exception of amateur fishing carried out with one rod with one hook or one spinning rod equipped with an artificial lure, with one single, double, or treble hook during daylight hours from the shore (without entering the water) or from ice, from artificial structures, except for those listed in the seventh paragraph of subparagraph 109.3 of paragraph 109 of the Rules, as well as the commercial catching of eels without observing commercial measures in places and under conditions annually determined by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora under the President of the Republic of Belarus reports:

Fish caught during the prohibited period or by prohibited methods will be counted at triple the rate for each individual. If the amount of damage is 100 or more basic units, criminal liability is provided for under Part 1 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
