The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora informs that at the end of April, inspectors detained one resident of the Lepel district and one resident of the Logoisk district who were illegally fishing with nets on Lake Ogzino near the town of Lepel. They illegally caught 63 roaches and 2 breams (total fish weight was 7.5 kg). The environmental damage caused amounted to 195 base units (4972 rubles 50 kopecks). Due to the fact that the damage exceeded 100 base units, the issue of initiating criminal proceedings is being considered.
The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora reminds that a ban on fishing for all types of fish has been established in the Vitebsk region until June 8. Such protective measures are necessary to create favourable conditions during the fish spawning period.
