The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora reminds about the observance of safety requirements during hunting

The following are prohibited:

• boarding or alighting from a vehicle with a loaded hunting weapon;

• removing an assembled hunting weapon from a vehicle by the barrel(s);

• firing at noise, rustling, at an unclearly visible target, or in conditions of poor visibility (dense fog, heavy snowfall, against the sun, etc.); • firing and being with a loaded hunting weapon within 200 meters of the nearest building of a populated area;

• firing towards people, populated areas, agricultural or domestic animals (except stray cats and mongrel dogs), or vehicles from a smoothbore firearm hunting weapon within 500 meters of them, and from a rifled hunting weapon - within 2 kilometers;

• aiming a hunting weapon, including an unloaded one, at a person, agricultural or domestic animals (except stray cats and mongrel dogs), or their habitats;

• firing unnecessarily, cocking an external hammer weapon, or disengaging the safety catch of an internal hammer weapon;

• finishing off a wounded game animal with the butt of a weapon.
