Following the results of the work for 2019, in the regional review and the first stage of the republican review of the quality and culture of medical care for the population, the Healthcare Institution "Lepel Central Regional Hospital" took third place in the nomination "Best Central District Hospital", and the Zaslonovo General Practitioner's Outpatient Clinic took first place in the nomination "Best General Practitioner's Outpatient Clinic".

Demographic security is one of the most important components of the security
of any state. In the Lepel district, as in the Republic of Belarus as a whole,
significant work is being carried out to strengthen health, increase the birth rate and
life expectancy, promote a healthy lifestyle and
self-preservation behaviour, as well as orient the upbringing and educational
process towards family values and increasing the prestige of large families, improving
the socio-economic conditions of the population's life.
During the period of implementation of the measures of the State Program "People's Health and
Demographic Security of the Republic of Belarus" for 2016 — 2020 in the
Lepel district, positive trends in key
medical and demographic indicators were achieved: low rates of infant
and perinatal mortality were recorded, and there were no cases of maternal
mortality.
Currently, the accessibility and quality of medical care for the population in
the Lepel district are fully ensured. Any person, regardless of
social status, upon seeking medical assistance, will receive it at all levels, if indicated.
In resolving issues of ensuring demographic security in the district,
close interaction is carried out between all structural divisions
of the district executive committee, district and rural Councils of Deputies, as well as medical
institutions.
To improve the healthcare system and solve organizational and
management problems in the Central Regional Hospital, measures are being implemented to informatize the industry,
including the development and implementation of a unified information and analytical system
for collecting and processing statistical medical information, and electronic medical records.
An electronic prescription system is used. The implementation of electronic prescriptions allows for minimizing the time spent on their issuance, eliminating forgery and duplication, avoiding errors, strengthening control over the purchase of medicines, and optimizing the costs of paying for subsidized prescriptions. Other modern services are also successfully used: electronic referrals for various examinations, computerised appointment booking. A telemedicine system is being implemented.
The proper implementation of the measures of the approved State Programme "People's Health and Demographic Security of the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2020", aimed at creating conditions for improving the health of the population, promoting a healthy lifestyle, developing and strengthening family values, reducing mortality rates, and increasing life expectancy, will allow for further improvement of the demographic situation in the Lepel district.
Health is the natural state of a person as a whole: their thoughts, feelings, words, and actions. And it directly depends on their lifestyle. Each of us must take responsibility for our lives, lead a healthy lifestyle, and undergo regular comprehensive medical examinations.
