Participants of the traditional annual event will include children from various regions of Russia and Belarus currently undergoing health improvement at the resort under the Union State programme on the Chernobyl theme, Andrey Brigadin, advisor at the representation of the Standing Committee of the Union State (Minsk), representatives of the Republican Centre for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and various children's rehabilitation and health resort centres of Belarus.
The packed programme will begin with a guided tour of the centre. Guests will learn about the organisation of leisure and health improvement for children staying at the resort, attend various events with their participation held on the theme of the Union State, and then share their professional experience during a scientific and practical seminar. For the children, this day will be filled with numerous games, creative performances, and masterclasses united by the theme of friendship between the peoples of Belarus and Russia.
According to Vera Zakrevskaya, the Lepel "Zhemchuzhina" centre is a permanent executor of the Union State programme for organising treatment and health improvement for children from the regions of Belarus and Russia most affected by the consequences of the Chernobyl NPP disaster. It is also part of the system of specialised children's rehabilitation and health resort centres established by the state under the "Children of Chernobyl" sub-programme of the "Children of Belarus" presidential programme, which have all the necessary conditions for comprehensive rehabilitation of children from affected areas. The experience gained by the resort staff over 14 years, as well as the available medical facilities, allow for comprehensive rehabilitation of children and adolescents according to individual programmes. These programmes involve the use of all available types of procedures, taking into account their combination and the young patient's health characteristics, and identified future health risks. This approach, supported by a robust material and technical base, allows for the selection of a preventive scheme or a treatment plan for a specific pathology for each child individually.
