Lepel District was represented by two groups at the eleventh regional festival of satire and humour in Shumilino, "Laughter is not a Sin": the folk miniature theatre "Balagan" and "Kaktus-kak-tuz" from the Vyalikapoŭsvižski Rural Cultural Centre. The Poŭsviž artists performed on the first day and presented excellent acts. Lidiya Hančar, an actress from "Kaktus", received a diploma for the best female role. The group was also awarded a diploma for the best performance in the Belarusian language and a diploma for sales-auction.
The folk theatre "Balagan", led by Tatsiana Kanapelka, received a third-degree diploma. Tatsiana is a young specialist who has been leading the group for two years.
At the previous festival, the folk theatre was just a step away from winning prizes. At that time, the theatre had an excellent team, with Vital Khvatsynets and Andrey Marchenko as leading actors. Unfortunately, Andrey left the group for personal reasons, which was a significant loss. However, Yulia Kuncheŭskaya returned from maternity leave to replace him, and new actors, Siarhei Liaŭkovich and Dima Paŭlaŭ, joined. These young men are true creative discoveries!
Vital Khvatsynets was also awarded a diploma for the best male role.
Let us hope that these diplomas are far from the last in the creative biography of the Lepel performers.
