Forestries of Belarus sold 70,277 New Year trees, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Ministry of Forestry.

Traditionally, fluffy fir trees are in the greatest demand among buyers, however, Belarusians also choose pines as the main New Year attribute. Out of the total number of trees sold, more than 5 thousand were pines. In addition, forestries offer their customers New Year bouquets (more than 2 thousand sold) and potted trees (516).

Overall, an increase in demand for New Year trees is noted across the country. "This is confirmed by statistics: last year, 66,263 fir and pine trees were sold during the same period," the press service said.

In total, in 2017, forestries of Belarus prepared about 180,000 New Year trees for the upcoming holidays. Their cost varies in different regions of Belarus. Traditionally, the lowest prices for New Year trees are found in forestries. Forestry products are available at more than 1.1 thousand points of sale throughout the country.
