The 2023 health resort campaign has started in the Vitebsk region at the "Druzhnye Rebyata" (Friendly Lads) camp, founded by the Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth.
Children's chatter, the tart scent of pine needles, and bright sunshine immediately immerse visitors in the pleasant atmosphere of a countryside retreat, where the "Druzhnye Rebyata" health resort camp is located in a picturesque spot, 10 kilometres from the regional centre. 190 children aged 10 to 15 will rest here during the first shift. These are not only children from the region but also from other regions of Belarus and countries, particularly Russia, as emphasised by the camp director, Irina Starovoytova. Four health resort shifts will be organised over the summer, followed by a fifth specialised shift for teenagers from mid-August. All inter-season shifts have a specific focus. The current one will be held under the motto "The Path to Success" and will promote the development of leadership qualities.
The camp has excellent material resources, noted Irina Starovoytova. 60 thousand roubles were allocated from the regional budget for roof repairs and asphalt laying. The founder's funds were used to purchase televisions, various games, new benches for the stadium, and other items.
Children will spend their holidays in comfortable conditions. They have at their disposal two volleyball courts, a basketball court, a workout area, a children's playground, and table tennis equipment... In short, everyone can showcase their abilities in their preferred sport. In addition to this, general camp events with competitions, contests, and quests await the children.
Seventh-graders Timofey Larionov and Ivan Drobysh from Vitebsk met at "Druzhnye Rebyata" last year. They liked the camp so much that they did not hesitate to come back. And they did. They are happy to continue their acquaintance. They expect unforgettable experiences from various contests, which, according to them, are fun, interesting, and creative. And when this is combined with five delicious meals a day, one could not dream of a better holiday.
Traditionally, the formed detachments reported their readiness to have fun and healthy holidays. A symbolic ticket to summer was presented by a fairytale character. The start has been given. Bon voyage, summer holidays!
