The widespread use of mobile phones is further stimulating the expansion of landline telephony, with the number of subscribers increasing. Since the beginning of the current year alone, specialists of the district electric communication node have connected 260 new telephones.
INTERNET REACH IS GROWING
High-speed internet is continuously expanding its reach. This year, 1026 new users have appeared in our town and district. In total, the number of internet subscribers in our native region who access the global "web" through the landline telephone network has reached 6889 people.
"ZALA" IS POPULAR
The process of replacing terrestrial television with digital television is accelerating, including through the connection to interactive television "Zala" with its dozens of TV channels. Employees of the district electric communication node carry out this service upon request for everyone who has a landline telephone installed at home or in their apartment. For a certain monthly fee, 5289 residents of Lepel region are already watching TV programs this way, including 1052 people who became "Zala" subscribers this year alone.
TERRESTRIAL DIGITAL TELEVISION
From October 21 of the current year, the district electric communication node has begun to provide assistance to the public in connecting to terrestrial digital television. For a fee, those who wish are provided with a set-top box and an antenna, which allow viewing 26 channels of the basic package from the Ushachi television repeater. The first to connect to terrestrial digital television in this way were 57 residents of the villages of Zabaroŭye, Zornitsa, Stary Lepel, Suša, and some other settlements in the district.
