The identities of all Belarusian citizens killed and injured in a road accident in the Lipetsk region have been established, and the Embassy of Belarus in Russia is providing their relatives with all necessary assistance, the press service of the diplomatic mission informed BELTA correspondent. According to the embassy, on April 15 at 5:29 AM, on the 394th kilometer of the M-4 "Don" highway, near the turn-off to the settlement of Chibisovka, Yelets district, Lipetsk region, Russia, a Volkswagen Transporter minivan driven by a Belarusian citizen, due to non-compliance with the speed limit, lost control and collided with a MAN truck parked on the roadside. There were 8 people in the minivan, including the driver, all citizens of Belarus and residents, mainly, of the Vitebsk region. As a result of the accident, 5 people died and three were injured. One of the injured sustained a bruised head wound and refused hospitalization; the second is in satisfactory condition in the trauma department of Yelets City Hospital No. 1 with a concussion and bruises; the third, in serious condition, has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the same hospital with a brain contusion. The consular department of the embassy is in constant contact with Yelets City Hospital No. 1, as well as with the crisis management center for the Lipetsk region. Relatives contacting the consular department by phone are given consultations on document processing for the transportation of the bodies of the deceased to Belarus. A hotline has been set up by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Lipetsk region (tel. +74742-22-88-60). Psychologists are also working at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Lipetsk region (tel. +7919-255-87-59) and in the city of Yelets (tel. +7950-807-75-61).
