22 December, Lepel /Own correspondent/. Every year, on the eve of the New Year holidays, a beautiful fir tree is traditionally installed on Freedom Square. Slender, tall, decorated with numerous multi-coloured lights, it lifts everyone's spirits and delights the eyes of passers-by. Both adults and children have fun with pleasure around the forest beauty.
The unique spectacle impresses all guests. However, behind all the fairy-tale beauty lies the painstaking work of specialists – employees of KUPP ZhKG "Lepel". It is thanks to their diligence and professionalism that the city square will look especially bright and unique during the festive days.
The decoration of the fir trees and other trees on the square with lights and the creation of illumination is carried out by a team of electricians under the leadership of the chief power engineer, Vitaly Vashkevich.
The selection of the fir tree was handled by the deputy director of the enterprise, Sergey Markovets, who previously worked for many years at DLGOU "Lepel Leskhoz" and knows the area of the district well. Sergey Alexandrovich noticed the most beautiful fir tree in the forest massif near the village of Slobodka, Volosavitsky rural council.
Responsible employees of the enterprise were involved in the delivery. A crane was used. A timber truck was provided by OJSC "Vitebskles". Escort of the route was ensured by employees of the traffic police department of the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs.
The height of the fir tree is 20 meters. Many are interested in how the fir tree is secured. As explained by Viktor Shalayev, acting director of LKUVP ZhKG "Lepel", the trunk of the tree is concreted and then inserted into a special pipe. Guy wires are attached to the trunk from several sides, which are connected to the electric poles. Thus, the fir tree is securely fastened. The tree can withstand even the strongest gusts of wind.
