On July 15, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The British Queen's favourite performer, one of the most handsome men on the planet (according to People magazine), world-renowned tenor Alessandro Safina will return to the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk International Arts Festival next year. He announced this at the "Star Hour" - a press conference with celebrities, which traditionally takes place at the festival, answering a question from a BELTA correspondent.
The Italian tenor accepted the festival organisers' invitation to come with a concert next year. In addition, a performance in Minsk with the National Concert Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus under the baton of Mikhail Finberg is planned for early December this year.
Alessandro Safina took part in the festival's grand opening concert and performed his most famous composition in the post-Soviet space, Luna from the TV series "The Clone," in which he played the leading role. This was his premiere in Belarus. He is currently serving as a jury member for the Vitebsk-2012 International Pop Song Performers Competition. The singer admitted to journalists that he has very little free time at the festival, so he hasn't had the chance to get to know the city well. However, what he has managed to see has made a pleasant impression. "I feel comfortable at the festival," he said. Answering a question about his favourites among the contestants, he did not hide that there were not many, but stressed that the level of performance skill of all participants is very high.
Alessandro Safina began as a classical musician. He performed leading roles in the operas "La Bohème," "The Barber of Seville," "Rusalka," and "Eugene Onegin." He now calls his style "opera rock": academic vocals are combined with elements of pop music and soul.-0-
