The best large family has been chosen today in the Vitebsk region, the Committee for Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The final of the review competition concluded at the Vitebsk District House of Culture (Novka agro-town) with a convincing victory for the Klimentyev family from Polotsk, who are raising six children aged from 11 months to 9 years. The family team participated in the competition in full. The jury awarded second place to the Demidchik family from Sennensky District, and the third-degree diploma was taken home by representatives of Dokshitsky District – the Kishulko family team. The winners were awarded cash prizes: first place – 30 base units, second place – 20, third place – 10 (the base unit since April 1 has been Br100 thousand). 9 teams, having passed regional qualifying rounds, competed for the honorary title of the best large family of the region. In the final, they had to present their family's business card, present a social advertising project "We are a large family!", prepare a home assignment for the "You'll lick your fingers" competition, and demonstrate creative achievements in the "Our golden hands" competition. The younger members of the families also defended the family's honour in the intellectual competition "Your word, erudites". The aim of holding such an event is to enhance the prestige and authority of large families, strengthen their unity, spiritual and moral foundations, and revive and promote family values and traditions. The review competition was organised by the Committee for Labour, Employment and Social Protection and the Department of Culture of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.-0-
