The best volunteer squad member will be chosen in the Vitebsk region on September 22, the Department for Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. More than 150 people from all regions of the Vitebsk region will take part in the regional sports competition among young members of volunteer squads and youth law enforcement units. The competition program includes contests in sports and applied all-around events, obstacle course completion, tug-of-war, and checks of legal and medical/sanitary training. Based on the results of the competition, winners will be determined in individual and team standings. The best volunteer squad members of the region will be awarded cups, medals, and diplomas. The event is designed to foster a sense of civic responsibility and patriotism among young people, and to promote the law enforcement movement. In addition, the sports competition is one of the steps in identifying talented young people for further work in law enforcement agencies. The organizers of the event are the Department for Youth Affairs and the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. -0-
