The regional stage of the republican competition "Student of the Year" will be held at the P.M. Masherov Vitebsk State University. The best students of higher education institutions of the region, winners of the university stages of the competition, will take part in the event. The honorary title will be contested by Alexandra Dubinkina from the P.M. Masherov Vitebsk State University, Olga Maslak from the Vitebsk State Medical University, Anastasia Avdey from the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, Alexandra Shlupakova from the Vitebsk State Technological University, and the only male participant among them – Vitaly Golyak, a student of Polotsk State University. During the competition, contestants and their support groups will have to present their "Business Card" – to introduce their achievements and hobbies, skills and talents to numerous fans and jury members in any creative form. For the same purpose, the "Portfolio" competition was held in advance, which remotely informed the jury and organizers about the students' achievements in studies, creative work, science, sports, public and research activities. Participants will also have to take part in the public speaking competition "Three Arguments 'For' or 'Against'" on a given topic. The best youth initiatives and projects popularising the main activities of the BRSM Public Association will be presented in an original form during the "Project Defence" competition. A highlight of this year's "Student of the Year" promises to be the performance of a staged sports-oriented number in the "Sports Mix" competition. The competition programme will conclude with the demonstration of creative performances by participants and support groups on a given theme. The winner of the regional stage of the competition will take part in the republican (final) stage of "Student of the Year", the award ceremony and summing up of the results of which will take place as part of the celebration of International Students' Day.
