The best landscape designers of the Vitebsk region will decorate Dubrovno for the regional "Dazhynki" festival, the press service of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent.
Eight teams, comprising 30 top professionals from Vitebsk, Dubrovno, Glubokoye, Verkhnedvinsk, Dokshitsy, Gorodok, Tolochin, and Novolukoml, have been entrusted with beautifying the town for the celebration. All of them are keen to showcase their talents to the fullest in creating their compositions. This motivation is driven by the concurrent regional competition for professional skills in green construction.
Contestants will be tasked with creating living panels and thematic compositions using flowers, ornamental plants, and shrubs. The use of original structures, mounds, small architectural forms, and other design solutions is permitted. When determining the best, consideration will be given to the complexity of the flowerbed's execution, the quality and variety of seedlings, the boldness and vibrancy of the designs, adherence to planting techniques, and occupational safety requirements.
The second part of the competition involves testing theoretical knowledge. Each landscaper will face 10 specialised questions on the technology of creating flowerbeds and planting shrubs and trees, rules and techniques for caring for plantings and floral crops, and occupational safety.
A competent jury, consisting of representatives from the regional Housing and Communal Services Department, the Dubrovno District Executive Committee, and Vitebsk "Zelentkhoz", will determine the competition winners on August 29. At the end of September, during the main festival for rural workers, agrarians and guests from all districts of the region, who will arrive in Dubrovno, will be able to appreciate their work.
