What do elderly people need most? Attention, support, understanding, a kind word… Years of work are behind them, their children have grown up, started their own families and, like birds, have flown to different cities. And not everyone has enough time to visit their relatives and talk about their lives. However, how much parents want to have a heart-to-heart talk, express their worries, or simply… listen to their favourite song. For elderly people, this is probably the best gift. Every month, artists from the auto club and the Lepel District House of Culture visit villages in our district.

A real gift was prepared for the residents of the village of Poddubye by the staff of the auto club together with the artists of the Polsvizhsky Rural House of Culture. They visited Nadezhda Nikolaevna Vecherskaya, Alexandra Vasilievna Nazarova, Nina Vladimirovna Yasko, Nina Grigorievna Kleshtornaya, Nina Danilovna Popko, and other villagers. A wonderful concert was organised near the mobile shop. The soulful singing so touched the villagers that some of them wished to showcase their creative talents. Nina Danilovna Popko captivated everyone with her lively chastushkas, and Nadezhda Nikolaevna Vecherskaya excellently performed ritual songs.

Lyudmila Silvanovich, the librarian of the Polsvizhsky Library, offered the villagers magazines, periodicals, and fiction. The guests also took care of the medical needs of the elderly. Natalya Tukhta, a nurse from the Polsvizhsky Rural Outpatient Clinic, measured the blood pressure of all those who wished.

Bringing joy and a great mood to people is a noble deed that unites active participants of amateur arts. No holiday or village event is complete without the participation of Nadezhda Matskevich, Lyudmila Puzanova, Natalya Tukhta, and Lyudmila Silvanovich. Although Natalya Tukhta works as a nurse, she never parts with her stage creativity, sings wonderfully, and participates in concerts in sparsely populated villages. Moreover, she gladly serves each villager as a medical professional.

Last year, together with the employees of the auto club, we visited the villages of Charnaruchcha, Kazly, Dvoryshcha, Padymkhi, and Zabalatsye.

Concerts were also organized for the residents of the villages of Pyshna, Valasavichy, Zvyazda, Izabelina, Studzyonka, Zaazerye, and others.
