The results of the national review competition for the best organisation of club institutions in agro-towns "Club of the Year" will be announced at the end of November. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Raisa Voitekhovskaya, Director of the state institution "Minsk Regional Centre for Folk Art". The national review competition has been held since March 15, in accordance with the State Programme for Sustainable Rural Development for 2011-2015. In all districts of the country, two best cultural institutions located in agro-towns were selected for review by regional competition commissions. "The members of the regional commissions were guided by the creative initiative, originality of projects, programmes, and concepts of the club teams, the degree of activity of their concert activities, and the material and technical base of these institutions," the interviewee noted. "Clubs in agro-towns should satisfy the spiritual needs of people of all age categories and include the main objects of cultural and leisure activities." In the central region of the country, the Ludvinovsky Rural House of Culture of Vileyka District and the Snov Centre for Culture and Recreation of Nesvizh District were identified as the best cultural institutions in agro-towns, which, according to Raisa Voitekhovskaya, are examples for other similar institutions. Today, members of the national competition commission will visit the Centre for Culture and Recreation in the agro-town of Snov. The commission includes specialists from the Ministry of Culture and teachers from the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. The competition jury is headed by Tadeush Struzhetsky, Deputy Minister of Culture of Belarus. In the capital region, there are 649 club institutions, of which 583 are located in rural areas, including 325 in each of the agro-towns of the capital region. "The work in them is organised at a decent level and meets all the necessary criteria for the development of culture in rural areas," emphasised the director of the regional centre for folk art. After summing up the results of the review competition, a national scientific and practical seminar "Activities of Cultural Institutions to Improve the Quality of Cultural Life of the Rural Population" will be held on the basis of the cultural institutions of the Minsk region.
