27 May, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonova - BELTA/. Ten business entities have become winners of the "Best Entrepreneur of the Vitebsk Region 2012" competition, a BELTA correspondent reports.
According to the competition results, in the "Best Entrepreneur in Industrial Goods Production" nomination, the winner was LLC "Production Enterprise "Karto-pak" (Polotsk). The best entrepreneur in construction activities was recognised as LLC "Construction Company RUMstroy" (Vitebsk). In retail trade, LLC "Praktik-Polotsk" (Polotsk) was recognised as the best, and in public catering – LLC "Arena-pizza" (Vitebsk). The winner of the regional competition in medical and pharmaceutical activities was recognised as IECCUP "Vik - Animal Health" (Vitebsk). The best infrastructure entity supporting entrepreneurship was KCCUP "Vitebsk Regional Marketing Centre" (Vitebsk). In innovative activities, the victory went to PE "Vitstroytehmash" (Vitebsk). The best organisation with foreign investment was named CJSC "OknaInvest" (Vitebsk), the best exporting enterprise – CJSC "LLK-NAFTAN" (Novopolotsk), and the best entrepreneur creating jobs – LLC "Alyansplast" (Vitebsk).
Oleg Matskevich, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, presented commemorative signs and diplomas to the winners and laureates of the "Best Entrepreneur of the Vitebsk Region 2012" competition. He emphasised that creating favourable conditions for the formation and functioning of the entrepreneurial environment is one of the most important national priorities. "Entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in creating the region's internal regional product, enhancing the competitiveness of manufactured goods, labour productivity, the efficiency of foreign economic activity, and attracting investment," said Oleg Matskevich.
Currently, over 150,000 people are employed in small and medium-sized businesses in the region, which is 27% of the employed in the national economy. 26,000 individual entrepreneurs and over 9,000 business entities are operating. -0-
