On September 9, Vitebsk will host the traditional republican event "Athletes for Road Safety", the Vitebsk City Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The event, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, will take place on Pobedy Avenue from Moskovsky Avenue to Stroiteley Avenue, starting at 12:00. The main awards of the competition will be contested by the best racers in Belarus, as well as an athlete from Voronezh (Russia) who has applied. A total of about 30 virtuosos of the wheel are expected. The significant number of participants is due to the attractiveness of the Vitebsk track for them, which is the fastest compared to other tracks chosen for the event, and therefore allows drivers to demonstrate the capabilities of their cars and their own piloting professionalism to the fullest, the City Executive Committee noted. Participants driving personal cars will have to perform three exercises of various configurations for speed maneuvering. Two of them involve a separate start, and the third is a pursuit race: athletes will start in pairs. The event is organized by the public association "Belarusian Automobile Federation" with the support of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, and the Vitebsk City Executive Committee. The City Executive Committee drew the attention of guests and residents of Vitebsk that traffic of personal and public transport on Pobedy Avenue will be restricted during the event.
