Today, the sporting results of the year will be summarized. The solemn event "Lepel Olympus-2016" will take place in the format of a sports and entertainment festival. It includes the honoring of the best professional athletes, as well as residents of the district who engage in physical culture and sports for health improvement and have achieved enviable results. Those born in the district who have achieved world-class accomplishments will also be awarded. Among the triumphant athletes are the World and European Sambo Champion, winner of the 2015 European Games in Baku, and recipient of the Fair Play award for sportsmanship, Stepan Popov, as well as the two-time silver medalist of the European Canoe Championship, Master of Sports of International Class Elizaveta Anoshko.
In addition, FC "Lepel", whose team became the regional football champions this year, will receive an award. Pupils and coaches of the Olympic Reserve Youth Sports School, trade union youth sports schools, winners of the year-round school students' sports games, sports veterans, and representatives of enterprises and institutions that have met the GFCK (State Physical Culture and Health Complex) standards will also be recognized. In Belarus, the "State Physical Culture and Health Complex" program has replaced the GTO standards that existed in the USSR. Its aim is to develop physical culture and sports, improve the health and physical education of the population, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
