President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the participants and guests on Belarusian Written Language Day. This was reported to BelTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"I cordially congratulate you on Belarusian Written Language Day – a celebration of national culture, the printed word, and Belarusian spirituality, which marks its 30th anniversary this year," the President noted. "During this time, many renowned cultural and educational centres of Belarus have been its capitals, including Polotsk, Turov, Novogrudok, Nesvizh, Pinsk, Zaslavl, and Shklov. The names of the best national creators of world renown are associated with them – Euphrosyne of Polotsk, Kirill of Turov, Francysk Skaryna, Pyatrus Mstislavets, Spiridon Sobol, and Simeon of Polotsk."

Alexander Lukashenko called it symbolic that the anniversary falls on the Year of Peace and Creative Labour and is celebrated in the hospitable Vitebsk region, where Belarusian statehood was born and the oldest centre of printing is located.

"The native language, knowledge, and traditions of ancestors always unite people, inspire them to fruitful work, allow them to overcome difficulties and obstacles, and are an inexhaustible source of strength and wisdom for the people, a support in fostering patriotism and love for the Motherland," the President emphasized.

The Head of State wished all participants and guests of the holiday health, happiness, life wisdom, and creative success for the benefit of the Motherland.
