President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, during his address at the New Year's Ball for Youth at the Palace of Independence, conveyed an important message to the representatives of the new generation, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"To you and all your peers, I will say the main thing: Belarus is behind you. A state where decent conditions for life, for personal and professional development have been created. This is your shield. And you must always carry it with honour, dignity, protecting it, because at the right time, in difficult times, this shield will protect you," emphasised the Belarusian leader.
The Head of State wished the representatives of the new generation to leave a bright, creative mark on the history of their country. "Our state, like you, is still very young. This means it is important not only to preserve the established traditions but also to create new ones. I often say that we have many traditions. And I have always strived to ensure that these traditions exist," said the President. "A country exists when it has traditions; this is the face of any country."
Alexander Lukashenko wished the representatives of the young generation to be bold, courageous, and very creative in the best sense of the word. "However, do not overstep the mark," the President cautioned.
"Remember: the fate of our native Belarus is in your hands. Your Belarus, above all," the Head of State advised. He wished all the participants of the ball a bright, interesting, and prosperous life.
