President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated his compatriots on the Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 105th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Today, the country celebrates the feat of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the valour and resilience of the internationalist soldiers, the patriotism and selflessness of the servicemen of the modern Belarusian army," the head of state noted. "Over the years of independence, we have created combat-ready, highly mobile Armed Forces equipped with the latest technology, ready to effectively counter any challenges and threats. Our army was and remains truly popular, one of the pillars of statehood, a guarantor of independence and security, and a true school of courage for the youth."

Alexander Lukashenko expressed his conviction that those in uniform will continue to firmly stand guard over peace, defending our native home – the Republic of Belarus.

"I express my sincere gratitude to all who have dedicated their lives to the great cause of serving the Fatherland, as well as to those who, having fulfilled their military duty, make our beloved Motherland stronger and richer through their daily creative work. I wish everyone good health, happiness, well-being, and new successes in their difficult military service for the benefit of the country and the people!" the congratulatory message reads.
