President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the people of Bulgaria on their national holiday – Liberation Day, which embodies the heroism and courage of many generations of Bulgarians, their aspiration for self-determination and defence of national interests, and the building of their own statehood. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"Belarus has always perceived Bulgaria as an important European partner with close values and mentality," the congratulatory message reads. "Minsk remains true to its convictions today, ready for a peaceful, constructive dialogue with Sofia based on respect and equality."
The Head of State expressed confidence that both countries can find ways to resume full-fledged relations, and that Belarusians and Bulgarians will continue to work and be friends together, thereby promoting mutual understanding on the European continent.
On behalf of the Belarusian people, Alexander Lukashenko wished all residents of Bulgaria – a wonderful sunny country – a peaceful future, harmony, and prosperity, and also assured them of Belarus's consistently friendly attitude and invited them to visit our hospitable country.
