Belarus and Kazakhstan share identical views on the development of the world. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Koshanov, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"Regarding the international agenda and our approaches and views, in my opinion, there is absolutely no difference. We see the development of our world in the same way. We are proponents of multipolarity. We want new countries, including those formed after the collapse of the Union (of Soviet Socialist Republics. - BELTA's note), to be sovereign and independent. You know this perfectly well, and your President included," said the head of state.
Alexander Lukashenko noted the assistance that Kazakhstan provided to the Belarusian side in the matter of joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation as a full member: "You helped us greatly. I primarily turned to my Kazakh friends. They not only supported us but also assisted in working with other countries to ensure such support was provided."
"We are very grateful to you, and we clearly remember that both Kazakhstan and Belarus are members of a number of international organisations. Regional ones, starting from the EAEU, CSTO, CIS. And ending with a global international organisation – the UN. We are present together where we need to be, where our interests are concentrated. This indicates identical approaches to solving various global and regional problems," said the President.
