"I am glad that Belarus will grow economically with Primorye. We intend to work seriously here," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that during the Soviet Union, Belarus was a high-tech region, an "assembly shop" with production facilities oriented towards the entire vast territory. "Back then, very excessive production was created in Belarus. If Belarus had been independent, we would never have created this," he remarked.
Nevertheless, a number of such Belarusian companies now hold significant shares in global production in certain areas, for example, BELAZ.
In addition, the President noted the high level of development of academic science in Belarus, which has both fundamental and practice-oriented developments.
"We inherited a huge school from the Soviet Union. From the earth to space. And I have been gradually supporting these schools. And they have turned out to be in demand," stated Alexander Lukashenko.
In this regard, there is an opportunity to develop relevant areas of cooperation with the regions of Russia, including Primorye. "Small Belarus, but we can transfer these competencies to this land," added Alexander Lukashenko.
