President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the people of Romania on their National Day, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Head of State.

"The Great Union of December 1, 1918, is one of the most significant events in the history of your country, marking the final stage of a long and arduous path towards the creation of a unified independent state. The age-old dreams of a free land, common to all Romanians, where one can live and develop, have become a reality," the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State noted that thanks to fruitful work, patriotism, and commitment to strong spiritual and family values, Romania today holds a worthy place in the international arena. At the same time, as the President emphasized, in the context of modern globalization, rapid changes, and uncertainty, it is very important not to lose one's roots, identity, and traditions.

"Minsk highly values the positive experience of cooperation with Bucharest accumulated through joint efforts. Belarusians are open to further realising the significant potential of bilateral relations and are convinced that only on the basis of mutual respect and constructive dialogue can a lasting peace and a happy future be built," Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

The President of Belarus wished the people of Romania well-being, joy, and harmony.
