Alexander Lukashenko noted that the Belarusian side cooperates with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights with great pleasure. "We have practically no problems in cooperating with your office. As I have been informed, we have recently successfully passed the Universal Periodic Review in the UN Human Rights Council," said the Belarusian leader.
The President assured that Belarus will continue to be committed to genuine human rights. "But I want to say frankly: we will never allow so-called human rights to be imposed on us and politicised. This is absolutely unacceptable, and I know your point of view: you have never welcomed the politicisation of human rights," stressed the head of the Belarusian state.
Alexander Lukashenko thanked for the support of the Belarusian initiative to combat human trafficking. "I want to assure you that we will adhere to this policy, as far as possible, we will promote it throughout the world, but most importantly, we will be a good example for other states in the fight against human trafficking," stressed the President.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights thanked the head of the Belarusian state for interacting with the office on a number of issues, including the fight against human trafficking and the issue of discrimination.
