The Belarusian army must develop taking into account the modern experience of warfare. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, today at a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defence, according to BELTA.
"I say again: there will be no fewer problems. We must see them. But, I repeat, we are not going to provoke anyone. But we must clearly see: as soon as our border is crossed, the response must be immediate. General Lappo knows," said the head of state.
Alexander Lukashenko noted: Belarus has a compact, capable army, and the state is taking measures to re-equip the Armed Forces with new types of weapons. Troop training to perform tasks according to their purpose is being improved, and exercises are systematically conducted.
"Our army must develop taking into account the modern experience of warfare. I want to hear your opinion on the situation in Ukraine and what this experience teaches us," the President stated. "Today, we are already seeing the specifics of conducting military operations in Ukraine. We have information about the continued build-up of the number and nature of troop movements near the western borders of our Belarus."
According to the head of state, Ukraine is observed to be restoring the guarding and cover of certain sections of the border.
"We still have to summarise and study the experience of combat operations as a whole for the entire period of the operation in Ukraine. There is no escaping this. But we must take some measures today," noted Alexander Lukashenko.
