"Let's be united by one idea – let's protect our country. This is a country for your children. It must be preserved for the children. If we come to school with this feeling, we will do our job and solve the problems that face us today," said the head of state.
The President noted that he had heard the opinions of all speakers at the plenary session on various issues. "We will dedicate next year to education. We must consider everything – from school admission," said Alexander Lukashenko.
Also, according to him, special attention will be paid to the construction and location of schools in cities. There are many problems in this regard, the head of state noted. "We have enough schools, but a problem has arisen. For example, in Minsk, in the centre, kindergartens and schools are vacant (the population is older, they don't have children), while the young people who do have children live on the outskirts, and we start building schools there. And this is colossal money," the head of state pointed out.
According to him, similar issues arise in the regions, when rural schools lack students, and teachers, due to a shortage of pedagogical staff, have to teach several subjects. Such schools had to be closed. But a system for transporting students from villages to district centres was organised. "I am being asked not to close the school. So, are we sending children to school just for the sake of it? They go for knowledge. And what kind of knowledge will they get if one teacher simultaneously conducts three lessons in one class," the President emphasised. - It's exactly the same in Minsk. Why are we afraid to arrange, if necessary, separate bus routes? It will be significantly cheaper."
