President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko gave an interview to China Media Group today, as reported by BelTA from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The interviewer was Ms. Zuo Yun, a host and correspondent specializing in international news and political topics.
The interview was organized ahead of major international events in China – the SCO Summit and the Victory Parade in Beijing, to which the head of the Belarusian state has been invited along with other world leaders.
China Media Group is a state-owned media conglomerate. It is one of the largest media conglomerates in the world, directly subordinate to the State Council of the People's Republic of China, with its headquarters in Beijing.
The corporation includes 51 television channels, 23 radio frequency bands for broadcasting within China, and programs in 44 languages for international audiences. Currently, CMG's media resources are available in 143 countries and regions worldwide.
The audience reach exceeds 1 billion people in China and abroad. Broadcasting is conducted 24/7 in five languages, including Russian.
Since October 2022, the program has hosted over 130 prominent world political leaders.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and the People's Republic of China were established on January 20, 1992. Embassies operate in both countries. Belarusian Consulates General are open in the Chinese cities of Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong.
The President of Belarus has visited the People's Republic of China 15 times.
