President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko gave an interview to the Interstate Television and Radio Company "Mir" on April 8, reports BELTA correspondent.

The interviewer was the Chairman of the ITRC "Mir", Radik Batyrshin. He has held this position since 2007. Batyrshin has participated in a number of major television projects and acted as the author and organiser of socially significant information events, including the international telemarathon "Our Victory" dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and the project "Memory Watch" for the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

During the interview, a wide range of topics were discussed, including interstate cooperation within associations such as the CIS, EAEU, and BRICS, trade and economic cooperation between individual countries and on a global scale, ensuring security in the region, and improving citizens' well-being. Special attention was paid to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the need to preserve historical memory.

The Interstate Television and Radio Company "Mir" was established by a decision of the CIS Heads of State on October 9, 1992, with the aim of preserving a common information space and promoting international information exchange within the CIS. The organisation's national branches and representative offices operate in nine countries.

The ITRC "Mir" includes the TV channels "MIR" and "MIR 24", the radio station "MIR", the information and analytical portal "MIR24.TV", and the multifunctional satellite system "Mir-Teleport". The total audience reach of the "MIR" TV channel is over 180 million people, and "MIR 24" is 80 million people.

The core of the broadcasting consists of information and analytical programmes covering key events in the CIS countries and around the world, as well as educational, entertainment, and public affairs programmes, and in-house documentaries. A significant portion of the airtime is dedicated to feature films and series.
