Belarus is interested in expanding and intensifying cooperation with Laos. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"I must tell you that we are very, very benevolent towards your country," the Belarusian head of state addressed the leader of Laos. "We would like to deepen our relations, to have a foothold for Belarus in Southeast Asia. And given that we are interesting and needed for Laos (excuse my immodesty), we could expand our cooperation and cooperate with you more actively. We have everything for this. We only need our desire and a certain plan of action for the future."
