During the conversation, a number of issues were discussed, primarily the situation with refugees on the Belarusian-Polish, Belarusian-Lithuanian and Belarusian-Latvian borders.

The conversation also touched upon in detail the ways and prospects for resolving the migration problem in order to prevent an escalation of the situation at the border. "And another very important aspect, which the President of Belarus and the acting Chancellor of Germany discussed in detail, is humanitarian support for refugees through the provision of humanitarian aid to them," the press service noted.

Alexander Lukashenko and Angela Merkel agreed on further contacts with the aim of resolving the situation.
